 A new day for St. Vincent De Paul, Council of Tyler has dawned.  We are now on the web!  Please explore the website and subscribe to the newsletter.  It will then be automatically sent each month as it is published.  Spread the invitation to all members, interested parties and to those who will use the site to "HELP US HELP OTHERS'. 

A new conference is formed in Longview at St. Matthew's Church.  Tom Mittler is the new president.  They are receiving 10-12 calls a week requesting assistance.  

A new presidentfor SVDP Sacred Heart in Palestine.  Welcome Merrell Blackwell.  She has a big job ahead of her with the large food distribution center and a Thrift Store to manage.  

 Walk for the Poor-2012 is scheduled for September 29.  There is one scheduled in Lindale at the Lindale High School Track at 9:00 A M. Refrewshments will be served.  Another is scheduled in Tyler at T. K. Gorman High School. This is a great way to raise awareness of the
plight of the poor in your community!  Involve the youth.   It is not too late to schedule an event in your area. Register on line at svdpfriendsofthepoorwalk.org

Friends of the Poor Grant Applications are due in by August 15. Conferences that are Aggregated may apply.  To download an applciation go to: www.svdpusa.com/development. Click on Friends of the Poor Grant or call Steve Martinez, the National Development Director(314-576-3993).  Projects may be as uncomplicated as: food for the poor or rent to prevent eviction.

 

A wallhanging size quilt made by Marge Boland titled "Our Pantry" will be raffled off September 29, 2012.
